When someone sends me a drawing with the scaling at 2:1, it comes to me with the dimensions on the drawing reading 2:1 instead of 1:1. Is there a setting I need to change?

This is because the drawing’s size is 2 to 1 the normal size. What you would do is that when you import the part file, you would then use the translate function and set the scale to .5. Change the origin to enter and select the part and then click OK twice. This will scale the drawing to half its size.

Thanks for your feedback. I still have another question
When I receive the file and look at the dim on it they do not come come across correct. If the part should be 2″ the imported file reads 4″ and when I change the scale like you suggested it still reads 4″ and when I dim the part myself I get the 2″ that it should be. Why isn’t the actual dim showing as 2″ on the original print.
When I open the same file in bobcad 20.7 the print came across with the actual dim being correct 2″ but when I dim anything it comes across 2 times the size. I understand this.
Any other help would be great.

    Hello John,

When you dimension the part after you scale it up or down it should show the correct dimension. When you scale the dimension and the number stays the same is because BobCAD sees those dimensions as sort of just lines and arcs. So it will just scale the whole thing up. The best thing to do is to just delete old dimensions and remake the ones you need after you scale.
