I have problems importing dxf drawings from my drawing program (Turbocad) to BC. Some times it opens OK in BC and other times it do not. What should I do? I atthach a dxf file I am unable to open in BC.

There are s few things that work best with BobCAD.
Before saving the file from your other CAD system, Be sure to Explode the entire drawing to break up any Splines that could be in the drawing.
When it comes to saving the file. The best type of DXF file is a R12 DXF. That type works best with BobCAD so if you can save as that type it will work best for you.
Lastly, make sure you don’t have the file open in any other Program while trying to Open it inside of BobCAD. For example, Make sure your TurboCAD does not have the file in it when trying to open it in BobCAD.
There was no file attached to your post so I am not 100% sure what is wrong. But try these steps out and if they work, great. If not ZIP up your file and then attach it again and i can take a look at it.December 10, 2013 at 9:34 am #16392
I do not hav r12 but r14. Also I can safe AutoCAD 2000 up to 2011. Tried to explode and safe as R14, but unable to open in BC. I use a removebl stik to transfer from the Cad PC to my Cam PC. As I am only trying things out I am only moving a circle.
(Sorrey, I do not know how to zip. Can you show how?)

The part file you sent opened up just fine on my side. make sure that you are on the newest build of your software. You can find these updates on:
Let me know if that works for you.December 11, 2013 at 3:30 pm #16426
I moved my cad program to the same PC as the BC is on and all is ok.
But I do not understand that I am unable to transfere the DXF file from one PC to another using a movebale stik, might be something wrong at one of the PCs?
Thanks for your effort.
