I’m just getting started. I have a CNC plasma table that has an attached drill for drilling small holes for which plasma is unsuitable.

So, when I try to create the machine configuration in BobCAD, if I select “plasma” as a machine type, I cannot get access to the milling tools for the drill. If I select “mill” as the machine type then I cannot get access to the plasma tools. How can I do both?

Thanks so much for your help.

I can used “canned” drill cycles if I can figure out how to get BobCAD to let me output them in the gcode.

    Jon,

If you are using anything prior to V26, it will not be possible to do a plasma cut along with a drilling cycle in the same file. You will have to create two files, one that is as a standard milling part and the other as a standard plasma part. This will be the only way to do this. In BobCAD-CAM V26, you would be able to also define a drilling feature.

Thanks so much for your help.

How do I find the price to upgrade from BobCAD V25 to V26 to enable this functionality?

Another option is create 2 files then bring them into a text editor and combine the 2 files.A basic level of understanding g code would help.
