flowers are first piece, horse is second piece , cut in sapwood from walnut, not very good wood, she is 11×12 inches 1.05 gig file size
(is that big?) came from art to part section 14 designs 1 #17

looks good! what was the cut time and tool size for the flowers?

  • Profile picture of dwood1027 dwood1027 said 1 year, 2 months ago ago:

RAF used a .250 flat to rough , at .125 stepover .125 deep
and .125 ball .030 stepover, less than 10 min. to rgh, 87 min.
to fin. or less , flower is 14in tall & 6.5 wide

Those look great dwood! the filesize is big. Did you make the models entirely with BobArt? (Possibly using the new smoothing as you went)

they are not great, but i’m not ashamed to show them, i have made some no one will ever see, yes all made with bobart, dxf art to part, 5 emboss features, 3 sculpting features, might could have got by with 1 sculpting feature, lot to learn yet, and there was some hand work also,
and i have shut down with sculpting at 4.6 gigs , got a little carried away, and there is a method to sculpting, i think
just thought they might motovate someone else to run that little mouse around the screen

You’re doing a good job motivating! Nice stuff and thanks for sharing the info. I wish I had something to share but it’s been stagnant here lately. 60+ hours a week running the same parts I’ve programmed over a year ago. :(

@cheezewiz i know what you mean, i guess the worst i had ,was QC in a shop
that made small parts , check threads till you upchuck, i am lucky now
work for self, never worked with wood till i got my routers, what makes it
fun is you can make something quickly. not like working with metal

What are the improvements if you upgrade to Bobart Pro form the standard Bobart ?

@hpbygd for me the main thing is the sculping tool, you can
add & remove then smooth, then the whole model smoothing is nice at times , the flower i could have done with either, but the horse no way
with out sculpting tools, i did a small horse with the 2 rail sweep which is
only in pro , some areas was easier than some ,some no different , lots of trial and era, need a lot of computer, but not extreme, and have lots of patience, but is a lot of fun

The smoothing tools aremore advanced. The biggest addition is the 2 rail sweeping. It allows a more effortless surface creation because the 2d curves only need to be setup planar, instead of the tedious “put in place” needed for regular skinning operations.

I really like the first piece – I am a fan of flowers and the flower piece is really great. Flowers always make me extremely happy which is why I love to order flowers for my home as a piece of decoration with serenata flowers delivered uk. They have so many beautiful flowers maybe you check that out and get inspired by them: http://www.serenataflowers.com/Flowers-delivered
