Clearwater, Florida, February 24, 2012 ““With tight budgets and high cost CAD/CAM software prices it has been somewhat of a challenge for high schools and universities to incorporate effective CNC machining curricula. This coupled with the fact that a lot of schools that do teach CAD/CAM for CNC machining teach software that is not affordable enough for students to take the software with them when they graduate and enter the workforce. CAD/CAM software provider BobCAD-CAM has been hearing this for years and decided to address it head on by launching their new Manufacturers of The Future program which provides schools and students with popular advanced CAD/CAM software products that solve this dilemma.

The new program focuses on cost reduction for advanced CAD/CAM licenses for classrooms or labs that need multiple stations, training products that teachers can use including instructional videos and as much support for instructors to ensure they are successful in developing curriculums and teaching CAD/CAM. “Part of the issue that we see is that in many cases students are taught CAD/CAM systems that they simply can’t afford when they graduate, making them less likely to be successful in the general markets. This program solves the issue completely,” said Al Depoalo, the BobCAD-CAM Partner Product Director. This program includes both the latest BobCAD-CAM software as well as their latest Gold Partner BobCAM for SolidWorks CAM add-in for SolidWorks design software. Lastly, the “Work Ready” aspect of the campaign ensures that students have the software products they need when they graduate. “That means it has to be very low cost and not limited as most Student Versions can sometimes be,” said Kevin Hughes, the Educational Director at BobCAD-CAM Software. He continued by saying, “Right now there is a lot of attention on manufacturing jobs in America, so we’re proud to support these students and teachers in creating our manufacturers of the future. The program basically gives students a greater chance of getting better paying jobs once they graduate because they will have all the skills they need.”

Part of the Manufacturers of The Future program includes the ability for schools at all levels to apply for sponsorship which provides them with the complete lab/classroom CAD/CAM package at no cost. More information can be acquired by contacting BobCAD-CAM directly.
