The Offset function creates a curve that is equidistant to a selected profile curve. To perform the function, you define the parameters, select geometry in the Workspace, and press Spacebar to accept the selections.
The Preview displays the result that will
be created when you click OK. When geometry selection is required for
a function, the preview is shown after you select the geometry.

Distance

Number
of Offsets - sets how many consecutive offset curves are created.
Left
Side of Chain - creates the offset to the left side of the
selected curve.
Right
Side of Chain - creates the offset to the right side of the
selected curve.
Sharp Corner - When two lines meet, their offsets
will either intersect, or leave a gap. Intersections are always trimmed
together, but the gap, which is usually handled with a radius, can
also be handled with a trim when the Sharp Corner option selected.
