The Wire EDM 4 Axis Skim Cut Operation

Introduction

This topic explains all of the parameters found in the Wire EDM 4 Axis Wizard for the Skim Cut operation.

The Wire EDM Skim Cut operation is generally performed after a rough cut, or tab cut, and can be used to create extremely accurate parts. A single Skim Cut operations can contain one or more passes. Multiple passes are often used while successively lowering the power settings to create the desired finish for the part. You can perform a Skim Cut operation with more than one pass all using the same direction or by alternating direction with each pass.
