Extend a Surface

Example

  1. Open a new graphics area by left clicking on the File menu and then New.

  2. Click on View in the main menu. Hover the cursor over Views and choose the ISO2 option to place the view in a 3 dimensional mode.

  3. Click the Rectangular Plane icon on the Surfaces toolbar or select the Rectangular Plane function from the Surfaces menu.

  4. The Data-CAM Tree Manager will be populated with fields for user input.

  5. Input 2.0 for the Width and Height, and 0.0 for the Radius.

  6. Click on the Enter option in the Origin field to select it, and then select Bottom Left from the drop down field.

  7. Input 0.0 for X, Y, and Z.

  8. Click OK.

  9. A rectangular plane will be created in the graphics area.

  1. Click on the Surface Extension icon in the Surfaces toolbar or choose the Extend function form the Surfaces menu.

  2. The Data-CAM Tree Manager will have a field labeled Distance. Input 1.0 in this field.

  3. In the graphics area, hover the cursor over one edge of the plane.

  1. Click the edge. The surface will extend out 1 inch in the direction of that edge.

  1. To end this function, left click on Cancel in the Data-CAM Tree Manager, or right click anywhere in the graphics area and then left click on Cancel.
