Mirror Geometry

Example

  1. In the File menu, click New.

  2. Create a chamfered rectangle in quadrant 2 of the graphics area (the upper-left quadrant). (The process is explained in the Create a Rectangle topic.)

  3. In the Utilities menu, click Mirror. The Mirror parameters display in the Data Entry tab of the Data-CAM Tree Manager.
  4. Select the Y-Z Plane option and click Copy.

  5. Click and drag a window around the rectangle to select it.

  6. To confirm the selection, right-click anywhere in the graphics area and click OK. The CAD preview is created in the graphics area.

  7. Click OK in the Data-CAM Tree Manager to create the mirrored geometry as shown in the CAD preview.

  8. A second rectangle is created in quadrant 1 (the upper-right quadrant) of the graphics area. At this point, the new rectangle is now the current selection, so the CAD preview now shows directly on top of the original rectangle. (To click OK again would create a second rectangle on top of the original.)

  9. Click the Z-X Plane option in the Data-CAM Tree Manager. The preview changes to show a rectangle in quadrant 4 (the lower-right quadrant) of the graphics area.

  10. To clear the current geometry selections and change the selection, click Re/Select.

  11. Click and drag a window around both rectangles in the graphics area.

  12. To confirm the selection, press the Spacebar. The CAD preview is updated.

  13. Click OK to create the mirrored geometry as shown in the CAD preview.

  14. There is now a rectangle in all four quadrants of the graphics area.

  15. To end this function, click Cancel.
