The Machining Job Dialog Box

Introduction

When you create a new job, the Machining Job dialog box displays. This dialog box is used to define the job type and the machine for the job. You can then start the Stock Wizard directly from the dialog box.

 

The Machining Job dialog box allows you to define the number and type of jobs that display in the CAM Tree. You can define one or more jobs in a single open file.

Navigation

To open the Machining Job dialog box, do one of the following:

 

  • In the CAM Tree, right-click CAM Defaults, and click New Job.

 

  • In the CAM Job group, of the CAM Ribbon, click New Job.

  • In the quick access toolbar, of the CAM Tree Manager, click New Job.

 

The Machining Job dialog box displays in the Data Entry tab.

The Dialog Box Parameters

 

 

Job Type

Select the type of CAM job that you want to create: Milling, Turning, or Mill Turn, Wire EDM, or Nesting.

 

Machine

Select the machine that you want to use for the job. The available machines are based on the selected Job Type.

 

  • Stock Wizard - creates the job and opens the Stock Wizard for you to begin setting up the job for Mill, Lathe, Mill Turn, or Wire EDM.

 

  • Nesting Wizard - opens the Nesting Wizard for you to define the parameters for a Nesting Job. (This is only displays when the Nesting Job type is selected.)

 

  • OK - creates the job and adds it to the CAM Tree. (The Stock Wizard must be completed before adding features to the CAM Tree.)

 

  • Cancel - cancels the job creation and closes the dialog box.
