What's New in BobCAD-CAM V33 SP3

Introduction

The third service pack from BobCAD-CAM V33 includes posting enhancements along with corrections in the following areas:

Enhancements

CAM

Posting

.BCPst & .EDMpst

• Five new posting variables have been created for: 
  
  

  • document_name - outputs the document name and file extension.
    

  • document_name_no_ext -outputs the document file path and document name without the file extension.
    

  • document_name_no_ext_no_path - outputs the document name with no path or file extension.
    

  • document_name_full_path - outputs the full file path with file extension.
    

  • job_name - outputs the job name.
    

Corrections

General

• Corrected an issue which prevented CAM Tree Flyouts from converting when in metric. The values in the CAM Tree Flyout were always shown in SFM.
  

BobART

• Corrected an issue which caused the V-Carve Top of Feature value to revert to zero when the Update All Geometries was used from the Machine Setup or Job level.
  

CAD

• Corrected a graphical issue which caused the Axis and Gnomon to disappear when the mouse was not in motion. This would occur while using several of the CAD functions when the Transparent view was being used.
  

CAM

Mill

Mill Express

• Corrected an issue which caused an incorrect final depth to be used for a Chamfer Mill operation when using the Passes Sort by option with multiple depths.
  
  

• Corrected an issue which prevented the Profile Rough Pattern from being updated from a Side Rough, once the operation was computed using that pattern.
  
  

• Corrected an issue which caused the software to crash when attempting to run Hole Recognition without a knowledge base template in the BobCAD-CAM Data folder.
  
  

 

Lathe

• Corrected an issue which caused incorrect toolpath for custom lathe inserts when the geometry provided for the tool tip was line segments rather than an arc.
  
  

• Corrected an issue which caused the software to crash after exiting the simulation when a Stock Feed operation was simulated.
  
  

• Corrected an issue which caused thread inserts to be saved with 80° thread angle resulting in incorrect thread height calculation in the Lathe Thread operation.
  
  

• Corrected an issue in the Turning Rough operation which caused incorrect linking of zig zag passes with particular geometry. This resulted in gaps in areas of the zig zag passes with subsequent passes running the tool over the specified depth.
  

 

Mill Turn

• Corrected an issue which caused a crash when all MDI tasks were deleted and a new one was created.
  

 

Wire EDM

• Corrected an issue which caused an incorrect endpoint coordinate when attempting to calculate a zero length line with the Break arcs into quadrants post question set to y.
  

 

Simulation

Simulation Pro

• Corrected an issue which caused Jaw Orientation 2 to revert to orientation 1 when opening simulation a second time.
