Edit Tool Holder

Edit Tool Holder
When working with lathe inserts, a generic holder is defined automatically. The Edit Tool Holder option opens the Tool Holder Definition dialog. The dialog differs slightly depending on the type of insert. Use the links below to view the relevant dialog.
Rough, Finish, and Boring Inserts

Custom Shape
- Pick Geometry - When Custom Shape is selected, clicking the Pick Geometry button will hide the Tool Library and allow you to select Tool Holder geometry from the graphics area. See the Assigning Lathe Tool Holders topic for an example.
- Shank Thickness- sets the thickness of the holder.
- Hand - Choose between a Left and Right facing holder, as seen in the images below:

- OK - accepts the changes and exits the dialog.
- Cancel - discards the changes and exits the dialog.
