Entities Summary Dialog Box
Introduction
The Entities Summary dialog box is used to verify the CAD entities in the graphics area. The summary always displays the information for all entities. If you select entities before opening the dialog box, then the summary also displays the information for the selected entities.
Navigation
To access the Entities Summary dialog box:
- Right-click anywhere in the graphics area, and in the shortcut menu, select Entities Summary.
The Entities Summary Dialog
- Quantities
of Entities - displays the total number of all entity types.
- Selected
Entities - displays the total number of selected entities.
- Type
of Entities - displays the total number of entity types.
- Blanked Entities - displays the total number of hidden entities.
Entities
The Entities group displays the following columns for all possible Entity Types: points, lines, arcs, text, splines, solids, contours, patterns, and dimensions.
- Quantity
- displays the total number of each entity type.
- Selected
Number - displays the total number of the entity types that
are currently selected.
- Blanked - displays the total number of entity types that are currently hidden.
Bounds
The Bounds group displays the Minimum, Maximum, and Total columns separately for all three dimensions. For example, when an entity is selected, if the Minimum X-axis value is -5 and the Maximum X-axis value is 2, then the entity spans from X-5 to X2. The total distance of the entity, 7, is then displayed in the Total column. If no entity is selected, then the Bounds group displays the Maximum, Minimum, and Total bounds for all entities in the graphics area.
Selected Chain Information
The Selected Chain Information group displays information of any currently selected 2D curve. When only one chain is selected, the Center of Gravity for the chain is displayed in XYZ coordinates (if it is drawn in the XY-plane). The Total Length of Chain displays the distance of the selected chain. The Total Area of Chains displays the area contained within the selected chain. When more than one chain is selected, the Number of Chains, Total Length of Chains, and the Total Area of Chains display.
