Pack2Go

Introduction

This topic describes the Pack2Go dialog and explains how to use it.

The Pack2Go dialog

The Pack2Go dialog allows you to zip a .bbcd and all associated files pertaining to the proper simulation and posting of the file. This dialog contains the following items.

  • File Destination - defines the location of the zip file being saved. Enter the location manually, or click the ellipses button to open the Save As dialog. The Save As dialog allows you to search for the location which the file is saved. The file type is set to zip by default.

  • Files included in the Zip file

    • bbcd - is selected and disabled by default, as this is the part file the zip file being created is designed to support.
    • Posts - adds the Posts folder with the post processors currently in use for the jobs in the file.
    • Machine - adds the MachSim folder with the machine folder containing the machines currently in use for the jobs in the file. The machine information includes the machine .xml and any supporting machine files included in that folder.
    • Thread Library - includes the Technology folder with the TappingTable.xml file defining your Thread Library.
    • Tool Library - is deselected by default as the tools for the jobs will be contained in the Tool Cribs of the file.
    • Material DB - includes the Technology folder with the MaterialDB.xml defining your Material Library.
    • System Info - creates a SystemInfo.xml file containing Computer System, System CPU Info, System Graphics, and System OS information.

  • Pack - creates the zip file with the files specified by the above selections.

  • Cancel - closes the Pack2Go dialog.

Example

  1. Click Pack2Go.

    The Pack2Go dialog opens.

  2. By default the file location is set to the Pack2Go folder in the BobCAD-CAM Data folder, but we will assume we intend to save to another location for this example.

Click the ellipses button next to File Destination.

    The Save As dialog opens.

  3. Select the location in which the file should be saved and set the name for the file.

By default the zip file is saved with the current file name.

  4. Click Save.

    The file destination is set.

  5. Review the Files included in the Zip file section, and select and/or deselect items as necessary.

Tip: While there are cases in which you may want to add the Tool Library as a file to include, there are no cases where you would need to deselect other items from the files to be included. It is recommended the default files to be included are left selected.

  1. Click Pack.

The zip file is created, and the save location is open by default.
