What's New in BobCAD-CAM V38 SP1

Introduction

The first update to our BobCAD-CAM V38 includes general corrections, CAM corrections

CAM – General

Corrected an issue where the Gouge Check item in the CAM Tree was not properly linked

Corrected an issue where the Minimize Retracts option did not function as expected.

Corrected an issue where arc direction move commands were not output in the generated G-code.

Mill

Corrected an issue where V-Carve operations could generate unintended circular toolpaths.

Corrected an issue where Facing Feature top-of-feature and depth values could change unexpectedly.

5-Axis Milling

Corrected an issue where 5-Axis Drilling operations could output incorrect Y-axis positioning.

Corrected an issue where indexed 5-Axis operations could post incorrect X-axis values.

Mill-Turn

Corrected an issue that could cause a Y-axis overtravel error during Profile Rough operations.

Corrected an issue where turning tool mounting orientation appeared correct in Simulation but incorrect in Backplot.

Corrected an issue where Generic Part Transfer MDI commands displayed metric units instead of inch units.

Corrected an issue that prevented a tailstock from being added to collision checking in machine definitions.

Wire EDM

Corrected an issue where System Compensation was not functioning correctly in Wire EDM operations.

Corrected an issue where the software crashed if Wire EDM operations got sorted in the Operations Tree.

Simulation

Corrected an issue where rotary axis positions could flip between operations in simulation.

User Interface & Workflow

Added a new notification icon to improve visibility of system messages.

Added a pop-up notification to alert users when a new message is received.

Corrected an issue with moving commands in the new WPF-based MDI page.

Posting / Toolpath Output

Corrected an issue where Adaptive Advanced Pocket patterns could output incorrect arc motion in G-code.

Multi-Axis / Rotary

Corrected an issue with axial limits in 4-Axis Rotary Advanced Rough operations when Z was configured as a rotary axis.

Integration / Infrastructure

Updated the SolidWorks document key so that BobCAD-CAM V38 can support SolidWorks 2026 SLDPRT part files
