Recognized Hole Features

Introduction

This topic will explain the Recognized Hole Features dialog, describe how to access it, explain the options found in it, and provide quick steps on how to use it.

Recognized Hole Features

The Recognized Hole Features dialog organizes the holes found in the selected geometry, allows you to have control over which features will be created, and gives you a little control over how those features are completed. It lists the Machine Setup they holes are found in, the feature type and diameter, along with the diameter and depth of any counterbores that are found. This dialog also lists the groups found for each feature, allows you to alter their Top and Depth values, and allows you to select and deselect the check boxes which determine whether a chamfer is applied and whether the hole is handled as blind hole or not. You can also compute all selected features simultaneously in this dialog.

Tip: Altering the Feature Type manually will be needed most when the SolidWorks Hole Wizard is not used for the creation of tapped holes. If there are supposed to be tapped holes, pay special attention to the feature types to ensure they appear. If not, switch the feature type manually.
