Change Origin
Introduction
This topic will explain Change Origin, describe how to access it and use it, and will provide a link to a related topic.
Change Origin
The Change Origin command allows you to modify the coordinate system used for an emboss model (the BobART canvas).
Important: When changing the coordinate system for an emboss model, you may need to reassign the previously selected geometry and regenerate the model to update it to the new location. (Right-click the appropriate Geometry items for each feature, click Re/Select, and click .)
Changing the Model Location
To change the coordinate system for the emboss model:
-
In the BobART tree, right-click Emboss Model, and click Change Origin.
The Selection Manager displays showing the previously selected coordinate system. -
Select the new coordinate system (or plane), and click .
Tip: The current emboss model is moved to the new location. If you are finished with the model and just want to move it, no further steps are needed. If you want to continue modifying the model, you need to reassign the geometry. For this reason, you may want to finish the model before moving it, to avoid the need to move the assigned geometry as well.
-
If you are still working on the model, move and reassign the previously selected geometry as needed, and regenerate to update the model location.
Note that you can modify existing features without the need to move or reassign geometry. The model is updated using the new parameters.
