Move List

Introduction

This topic will cover the Move List, and the functionality of the Move List. This topic will also provide links to related topics.

The Move List

The Move List is designed to show the move values of the operations. The values displayed here are the tool positions in absolute machine coordinates X, Y, Z (in case of 3 axis machine) and additionally A, B, C in the case of a 4 axis or 5 axis machine. The two main sections of the Move List tab, are the upper area, referred to as the Operation List, and the lower area, referred to as the Moves Area.

 

Main benefits

  • Identify the current position in the process of the machining.

  • Get an overview of the amount of positioning moves for the current program.

  • Scroll through moves by using the sliders.
  • Scroll through moves by clicking in the list and using the up and down arrows.
  • Jump directly to the desired operation.

 

Mainfeatures

  • Right-click in the list to access the following options.

    • Copy to clipboard - copies the currently highlighted move to a clipboard.

    • Copy to clipboard - All info - copies all listed moves to a clipboard.

    • Field Chooser - launches a dialog that lists all possible column types that are not currently utilized. With this dialog option, you can drag and drop from the main move list, to the Field Chooser dialog and from the Field Chooser dialog, to the main move list.

    • Column Auto-Resize - with this option selected, the columns in the move list will automatically adjust width when columns are either added, or removed.

    • Reset to default - overwrites any changes that have been made to the move list and resets it as it was when first open.

    • Settings - launches the Move list settings dialog so the number of significant digits can be set.

  • Identify limit over-runs by the exclamation mark ()

  • Identify collisions with tool, work piece, and machine components by the red cross ()

Operation List

The Operation List: 

 

  • Displays a list of operation and sub-operations.
  • Displays a blue arrow which indicates the current operation that is being executed.
  • Allows you to jump to any operation by left-clicking it in the list.

 

Warning: Simulator will be in search mode during these jumps mentioned above. This means that some collision checking will be disabled to facilitate faster jumps.

Moves Area

Moves Area Columns

There are two columns before the Block and Move columns. These are the: 

 

Arrow indication column - The Arrow indication column represents the corresponding move that appears on the screen.

Warnings column - displays icons which represent particular occurrences.

 

- Identifies limit overruns.

- Identifies proximity alerts between tool and: workpiece, stock, or fixtures when they are too close to each other.

- Identifies collisions with tool or workpiece and machine components.

- Identifies gouges.

- Identifies excesses.

- Stop commands.

- Bookmark.

 

The named columns, are: 

 

Block - displays a unique internal number.

Move - displays the move number.

X - displays the X location.

Y - displays the Y location.

Z - displays the Z location.

A - displays the A value.

B - displays the B value.

C - displays the C value.

Moves Area Context Menu

By right-clicking in the Moves Area, you can access the Context Menu: 

 

Copy to Clipboard - the information displayed on the current selected block will be copied.

Copy to Clipboard - All Info - all information displayed in the Moves Area will be copied.

Jump to First Move - using this option, you can jump to the first move from the current operation.

Jump to Last Move - using this option, you can jump to the last move from the current operation.

Create/Remove Bookmark - creates a bookmark on the highlighted move. This bookmark then appears on the progress bar which can be jumped to with a left click, or cleared with a right-click. When a bookmark already exists, this option removes it.

Remove All Bookmarks - clears all existing bookmarks from the moves list.

Field Chooser - this sub-menu allows you to add and remove one or multiple columns in the Move Area.

Column Auto-Resize - this option allows you to auto re-size the columns.

Reset to default - this options allows you to rest the default move list area, after making changes.

Settings - allows you to select the amount of decimals shown in the move list using "The number of significant digits" stepper. Also allows you to set the text colors to be set based on the toolpath analysis option.
