Adjusting Resolution for Emboss Models

Introduction

This topic will explain the resolution settings in BobART, and provide examples.

About the Model Resolution

An important note about the appearance of the embossed model is the resolution parameter found in the Stock Parameters dialog box. The stock resolution is the DPI, or dots per inch, setting used for displaying the embossed model in the graphics area. The software automatically calculates the resolution based on the model size that you define. Lower values decrease calculation times and conserve system resources, but decrease the quality of the model appearance in the graphics area. Higher values provide a more accurate appearance, but may increase calculation times and require more system resources.

Low resolution (20) High resolution (60)

Tip: Lower the resolution to decrease regeneration times during creation. When the work is completed, or to check it along the way, increase the resolution and regenerate the model to get a more refined look.

How to Modify the Stock Resolution

The following steps explain how to modify the resolution.

  1. In the BobART Manager tree, right-click Emboss Model, and click Create/Modify Stock.

  2. Change the Resolution value as needed and click OK.

You can decrease the resolution value to improve system performance, or increase the value to improve the appearance of the embossed model.

  3. Right-click Emboss Model, and click Regenerate to calculate the model at the modified resolution.
