BobCAM toolbar

Introduction

This topic will describe the options found in the BobCAM toolbar.

The BobCAM Command Manager Tab

The BobCAM toolbar allows quick and easy access to the common functions used within BobCAM for Rhino.

By default the BobCAM toolbar can be found under the ribbons above the graphics area.

Commands

  • Settings - opens the Settings dialog to allow you to set the default file paths of the BobCAM system. You can also adjust the system defaults for the color of the toolpath, as well as various tolerances, and the Default Machining Order. You can also use Settings in the command line. Click the lower right-hand corner of the icon to access:

    • Open *.bbcdx - allows you to open a previously saved .bbcdx file. You can also use OpenBBCDX in the command line. This function is currently not of much use until the 'Open *.bbcdx' functionality becomes available in BobCAD-CAM's other products like BobCAM for SolidWorks, and the stand alone BobCAD-CAM.

    • Save As *.bbcdx - allows you to separate the current BobCAM for Rhino work from the CAD model and save it. You can also use SaveAsBBCDX in the command line. This will allow you to open the .bbcdx file in BobCAD-CAM's other products like BobCAM for SolidWorks, and the stand alone BobCAD-CAM when the 'Open *.bbcdx' functionality becomes available in those products.

  • New CAM Job - opens the Machining Job manager for you to create a new CAM Job. You can also use NewCAMJob in the command line.

  • Job From Template - launches the Machining Job dialog to allow you to select a Job Type and then select a saved Job Template from the drop down list. To create Job Templates, right-click on an existing job and select Save as Job Template. You can also use NewCAMJobFromTemplate in the command line.

  • Current Settings - launches the Current Settings dialog to give you control of the Machine Parameters, Machine Definition, Posting, and Multiaxis Posting. You can also use CurrentSettings in the command line.

  • Cutting Conditions - launches the Cutting Condition Parameters dialog to allow you to adjust the settings for drilling style operations. You can also use CuttingConditions in the command line.

  • DMS Defaults - launches the DMS Defaults dialog to allow you to set templates to define which operations will be included in a selected feature by default. You can also use DMSDefaults in the command line.

  • Tool Library - launches the Tool Library dialog to allow you to add, subtract, or modify, tools in the library. You can also use ToolLibrary in the command line.

  • Mill Tool Holder - launches the Milling Tool Holder Library dialog to allow you to add, subtract, or modify, tool holders, and arbors in the library.You can also use ToolHolder in the command line.
  • Adapter Library - launches the Adapter Library dialog to allow you to add, subtract, or modify, adapters in the library. You can also use AdapterLibrary in the command line.

  • Thread Library - launches the Thread Library dialog to allow you to add, subtract, or modify, thread definitions in the library. You can also use ThreadLibrary in the command line.

  • Material Library - launches the Stock Material Library dialog to allow you to add, subtract, or modify, material definitions in the library. You can also use MaterialLibrary in the command line.

  • Simulation - launches simulation for you to verify and analyze all computed operations that are set to Post Yes. You can also use LaunchSimulation in the command line.

  • Exit Simulation - closes the simulation window.. You can also use ExitSimulation in the command line.

  • NC Editor - launches the NC Editor.. You can also use NCEditor in the command line.
