Compensation

System Compensation

With this option On, the system offsets the geometry by the tool radius. With this option Off, you should use Machine Compensation.

  • Off - the toolpath is calculated from the center line.

  • Left - the toolpath is calculated to the left of the selected contour.

  • Right - the toolpath is calculated to the right of the selected contour.

Machine Compensation

These options only effect the output in the posted code.

  • Off - the toolpath is calculated from the center line.

  • Comp Left (G41) - the toolpath of the operation represents the center of the cutter. The post processed code includes the command for cutter compensation to the left of the contour.

  • Comp Right (G42) - the toolpath of the operation represents the center of the cutter. The post processed code includes the command for cutter compensation to the right of the contour.

*For more information on how to use compensation, see the Compensation topic.

Spring Passes

- No additional passes are taken around the selected profile chain.

- The specified number of passes will be taken around the selected profile chain with an option to apply the selected leads prior to each additional pass.

  • Number of Passes - determines the amount of additional passes to take around the profile to act as spring passes.

  • Apply After All Depths - This option becomes available when Multiple Steps are selected from the Parameters page.

    - With this option cleared, the additional passes will ignored until the final depth.

    - With this option selected, the spring passes will be applied to each depth of cut, with or without leads depending on the state of the Apply Leads Prior to Spring Pass option.

  • Apply Leads Prior to Spring Passes

    - With this option cleared, the additional passes will bypass the lead-out and continue around the selected profile chain and complete all passes before leading out.

    - With this option selected, the tool will lead-out, retract to the rapid plane, move to the lead-in position, feed down and then utilize the lead-in prior to each spring pass.
