Counter Bore Tap

The Counter Bore Tap feature is used to create a tapped hole with a counter bore. The operations that make up the Counter Bore Tap feature can be defined at the global or part level by right-clicking Milling Tools under CAM Part in the CAM tree and selecting Tool Pattern under Default or Part. When you insert a Counter Bore Tap into the CAM tree, the system adds following items.

 

Geometry - This item is used to assign geometry used to create the toolpath. Right-click this item to produce a shortcut menu with the following options.

 

Counter Bore Tap - Right-click this item to produce a shortcut menu with the following options.

 

Center Drill - This operation spot drills the pilot hole for the feature.

Drill - This operation drills the main hole for the feature to depth.

Counter Bore - This operation uses a counter boring tool to semi-finish the hole.

Chamfer - Normally optional, this operation chamfers the top of the hole to the specified Chamfer Depth.

Tap - This operation creates the desired thread in the hole.

 

Right-click any of the previous operations to access a shortcut menu with two options for modifying the computed toolpath.
