Remnant Sheet

Introduction

In the Nesting Parameters of the Nesting Wizard, you set a default shape to the remnant sheets and some constraints on how they are generated. In this dialogue box, you will be able to see a preview of each sheet for the default shape that was selected along with the other possible shapes to finalize which geometry you would like to export for each sheet.

Parameters

Remnant Shape- Choosing a shape here will set the shape for the highlighted shape in the tree only. This will also show a preview of the remnant to be exported for the highlighted sheet.

  • True Shape - this option tries to determine the true shape of the remaining stock.

  • Rectangular - produces only rectangular remnants.

  • Stepped- places a bounding box around the remaining parts and gives the remaining stock as remnants.

  • Clean Cut - creates a line at the nested height and turns everything above that height into a remnant.

Apply All - will allow you to apply a Remnant Shape for all sheets in the tree.

Below the Remnant Shape, you will see all the sheets for the nest laid out in a tree format as seen in the example below. Click on a sheet in the tree to see a preview of the remnant that will be exported with the current remnant shape selection for that sheet.
