Introduction

The Parameters page of the Cutoff operation contains the variables needed for the feature.

Parameters

Lathe Cutoff Feature - Operation Parameters

The Lathe Cutoff feature is used to cut off finished parts from the stock. This feature type only contains Cutoff operations. All of the cutoff parameters are explained next.

Parameters

  • Cutoff Z - sets the position at which the cutoff occurs in the Z-axis.

  • Cutoff X - sets the position at which the cutoff occurs in the X-axis.

  • Retract Amount - sets the distance that the tool retracts between each cut.

Corner Break

  • Off - does not break the corner of the cutoff.

  • Chamfer - breaks the corner of the cut part with a chamfer.

    • Chamfer Length - sets the length of the chamfer to be cut.

    • Chamfer Angle - sets the angle of the chamfer.

  • Fillet - fillets the corner of the cut part if this is set.

  • Fillet Radius - sets the radius of the corner on the cut part.

Pecking

- No pecking is done during cutoff.
- Gives you access to the following pecking options.

  • First Peck Amount - sets the amount of material removed during the first entry into the material.
