All BobART features are accessed in the BobART Manager tab of the Data-CAM Tree Manager.
To view descriptions and explanations of all the BobART features and feature parameters, start with the BobART Overview.
The following is the general setup process for vectorizing images or loading vector files.
1 Prepare the image file or vector file that you want to use.
2 In
the BobART tree, right-click BobART Manager, and select the appropriate
command.
3 In the Open dialog box, locate and select the file. Click Open.
For vector files, the geometry displays in the graphics area ready to use.
For images, an Image-name item is added to the BobART tree, under Images.
You right-click Image and click Vectorize to define the parameters. When you click OK, the geometry is created and displayed in the Workspace.
The following is the general setup process for creating embossed models. All tutorials are listed after the steps.
1 Create geometry (or prepare files) for the feature.
This can be wireframe geometry, surfaces, solids,
BobART components, BobART surface files (.bbas), or image files (depending
on the type of Emboss feature).
2 Create stock for the
embossed model.
If you try to add an Emboss feature before defining stock, the Stock Parameters
dialog box is displayed first for you to define the stock size, location,
and appearance. The stock geometry defines the area in which an Emboss
feature can be created.
3 Add the feature and
define the feature parameters.
When you add the feature, a dialog box is displayed for you to define the
feature parameters.
For the Emboss From Image, Emboss From BobART Surface, and Emboss from
Component features, you select the image/.bbas/component (stl) file to
load before defining the feature parameters.
4 Select geometry, image
files, or BobART surface files (.bbas). After defining the parameters
and closing the dialog box, the feature is added to the BobART tree. You
use the feature to assign these items.
Geometry is selected for the Emboss Regular, Emboss Swept, Emboss 2-Rail
Sweep, and Emboss From Surface/Solid features.
For the Emboss Texture features, you can select a boundary geometry.
For the Texture from Image or Texture from BobART Surface (.bbas) File
features, an image or .bbas file is selected after defining the parameters.
5 Regenerate the model
to view the results of the feature.
