The Wire EDM AgieVision Settings

Introduction

This topic explains how the options to format the output for AgieVision Wire EDM machines, and provides links to related topics.

AgieVision

When an Agie machine is selected for the job and the Post Output is set to Command/ISO, the AgieVision page is added to the Current Settings Job dialog box, and the Posting page of the Wire EDM Wizard is replaced by the AgieVision page with the parameters as explained in this topic. The settings in this page are used to define the output for AgieVision control systems.

When you define settings in the AgieVision page in the Job Current Settings, the values are used as the defaults for all features (the AgieVision page in the Wire EDM Wizard) that you create after making the changes.

Important: The Post Output in the EDM Posting page of the Current Settings dialog box must be set to Command/ISO in order for the AgieVision pages to appear for any Agie machine type.

Wire

Wire Electrode Type - sets the type of wire to either Cobra Cut A, Cobra Cut D, Cobra Cut W, or Berco Cut. This is a job parameter that doesn't display in the AgieVision page of the Wire EDM Wizard.

Quality

The Quality section is used to select or create the quality parameters for both Vertical/Land operations and Taper operations separately. The settings that you define are output in the Command/ISO files that are created when you post the program.

Create Quality - changes the Quality Name box from a list of predefined qualities, to a text box for you to type the quality name.
Select Quality - is used when you want to select a predefined quality from the Quality Name box.

For all remaining options, Tkm Value, Ra Value, and Te Value, select the appropriate value from the list. You can also set each quality to be optimized for Finish or Speed.
