The Wire EDM Wizard Posting Settings

Introduction

The Posting page of the Wire EDM Wizard controls various posting settings for the feature. It is important to understand that the available options change slightly from one machine to the next. All options for all machines are explained in this topic.

Important: When an Agie machine is selected for the job and the Post Output is set to Command/ISO, the Posting page of the wizard is replaced by the AgieVision Settings.

Posting

Arc/Spline Output

  • Tolerance - sets the tolerance, or the maximum amount of deviation between the selected geometry and the output of the line segments used to create the wirepath for arcs and splines.

Work Offset

  • Number - sets the Work Offset number used for the feature. Click the arrow, and select a number from the list.

Posting Order

The Posting Order is only used to define the posting order when more than one profile is selected for a single Wire EDM 2 Axis feature. These options are comparable to the first two optimization types in the Machining Order, but applied to a single feature. If you post the entire program using Individual Feature, the selected Posting Order setting is used for this feature. When you post the entire program using By Operation Type, this feature is posted By Operation Type regardless of the selected setting.

  • Individual Shape - performs all operations on one profile before moving on to the next profile. This is similar to the Individual Feature optimization type. For example, the Rough Cut and Skim Cut operations are both performed on one shape before moving on to the next shape.
  • By OperationType - performs all operations of the same type on all profiles before moving on to the next operation type. For example, all Rough Cut operations for all shapes first, all Skim Cut operations second, and all Tab Cut operations last.

  • Tab Cuts Last

Select the check box to output Tab Cut operations last.

Clear the check box to perform the Tab Cut operations as defined in the feature.

Technology

The following options display only when a Brother HS-70A machine is selected for the job.

  • Defined - can be set to User Defined or In Machine to select the technology output.
  • Rough Only Cut Type - can be set to Normal A, Normal B, or Normal C.

The following option displays only when a Ona AE machine is selected for the job.

  • Filename - is a text box for you to type the technology filename to be output in the posted program.

Cutting Parameters

The Cutting Parameters only display when Sodick AQ325 or AQ537 machines are selected.

  • Cut Type - select from one of the available options to set the Cut type.
  • Fluid Type - select from one of the available options to set the Fluid type.
