Request a New Post Processor
Need a post processor that isn't in our library? Our development team can build a custom post for your machine controller.
⚠️ Before Requesting a New Post
First, check if a post already exists:
- ✅ Check pre-installed posts in BobCAD-CAM
- ✅ Search our online library of 600+ posts →
- ✅ A similar post might work with minor modifications
Only request a new post if you can't find one for your controller in our library.
✨ What is a New Post Request?
A new post processor request is for customers who need a post built from scratch for a machine controller that is not currently available in our library.
Common New Post Requests:
- 🔹 Rare or proprietary controllers
- 🔹 Custom or modified machine controllers
- 🔹 New controller models not yet in library
- 🔹 Specialized equipment (robotics, 3D printers, etc.)
- 🔹 Multi-axis configurations (5-axis, 6-axis, etc.)
📝 How to Submit Your Request
Option 1: Email Request (Recommended)

📋 Required Files & Information
To create your post processor, we need specific documentation from your machine manufacturer. These files are REQUIRED for post development:
🔴 Required Files:
- Sample G-Code Program: A working program from your machine or controller manual
- G&M Code List: Complete list of G-codes and M-codes your controller accepts
- Programming Manual: Electronic copy (PDF) of your controller programming manual
- Drilling Cycles: Examples of canned cycles (G81, G83, etc.) if applicable
⚠️ Important: If you don't have these files, contact your machine dealer or manufacturer. Without this documentation, we cannot create an accurate post processor.
Machine Information Needed:
- Machine make and model
- Controller manufacturer and model
- Controller software version
- Axis configuration (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis, etc.)
- Machine type (mill, lathe, router, laser, etc.)
- Special features (rotary table, automatic tool changer, etc.)
- Your contact information
- BobCAD-CAM version you're using
⏱️ Development Process
- Submit Request: Send us your requirements and files
- Review: Our team reviews your documentation
- Development: Post processor is created (typically 3-5 business days)
- Testing: You test the post on your machine
- Refinement: We make adjustments based on your feedback
- Finalized: Post is added to your account and our library
💡 Tip: The more complete your documentation, the faster we can create an accurate post processor.
