Tech Tuesday is a weekly blog that addresses some of the most common questions and concerns that I hear throughout the previous week from users of BobCAD-CAM software. Both customers and future customers are more than welcome to leave a comment on what they would like to see covered for the following Tech Tuesday. Enjoy!
The value of CAD-CAM training goes beyond the price tag. Training benefits people of all skills sets; whether you are new to machining or you are a seasoned machinist, there is always room to grow and expand your knowledge. BobCAD has many convenient training options available to meet people’s busy schedules, offering both free training resources and training resources for purchase. Let’s look at what resources are available and whether or not they cost money.
Free CAD-CAM Training Resources
BobCAD-CAM Facebook Groups: Technically not a training resource, joining the BobCAD Facebook group allows you to speak with like-minded people who may have the same questions or even solutions to a question you have. Additionally, users have a platform to communicate with our company directly, interacting with well-versed CAD-CAM specialists.
BobCAD Webinars: Hosted regularly, our webinars are done live with a BobCAD-CAM technician that will take you through various topics related to our CAD-CAM software. Users that join the webinar will be able to follow on-screen what is being done and have the ability to ask questions towards the end. These generally last an hour and are always available on Youtube at the conclusion.
BobCAD AfterDark: Another outstanding resource for machinists, this site has tutorial videos and blogs that allow you to learn the inner workings of CAD-CAM software and how it is used to create parts. These videos are hosted by Al DePoalo, our CAD-CAM specialist that has done hundreds of these videos on many versions of BobCAD-CAM products.
BobCAD-CAM’s Youtube: Our Youtube channel is a great source for detailed videos on many versions of our software. If you have a question, more likely than not, it has been answered in one our multitude of videos. These videos range anywhere from a minute long to over an hour long and cover both BobCAD and BobCAM products.
Purchasable CAD-CAM Training Resources
BobCAD-CAM Training Videos: These videos are fully comprehensive and indexed so users can watch from beginning to end or skip to a particular chapter they are interested in. Additionally, they come with a digital training manual in the form of a PDF document, giving you a great complementary guide.
On-Site Training Seminars: We will send our friendly and knowledgeable staff to your shop, using your machines and part files in your environment. You and your employees can all receive the same training at the same time fully customized towards the products that you manufacture.
In-House Training Seminars: Join us at our home office in Clearwater, Florida for a personalized CAD-CAM training curriculum, using your jobs and parts. Learn step-by-step with a certified BobCAD trainer on our workstations. Oh, and we are located just 10 minutes away from one of the best beaches in America… Clearwater Beach!
Online Training Seminars: One of our most convenient forms of training is our online training. Done in hourly increments, this allows you to better fit training into your busy schedule, losing as little productivity at the shop as possible.
3-Day Local Seminar: We regularly host 3-day seminars around the country, with dates and times posted well in advance. Users can look up and find a seminar that is close to them geographically and join a class. Classes are small for more interpersonal learning and done using the latest BobCAD software.
These training options from BobCAD-CAM are solid options for machinists of all skill types to get started or better at their craft. Make sure to sign up for our webinars and subscribe to our Youtube channel for the most up-to-date content. Thank you again for reading another Tech Tuesday, see you next week!
