Fixture
Introduction
This topic explains how to assign fixture geometry for CAM jobs in BobCAD-CAM. This allows you to assign geometry that represents the fixture to determine what is shown holding the workpiece in the simulation.
Note: You do not have to assign a fixture. If you do not assign a fixture, the fixture option will not be available in the simulation.
The Fixture
Right-click Fixture to open a shortcut menu with the following commands.
Fixture
- Re/Select
- opens Fixture dialog in the Data Entry
Manager for you to select the fixture for the machine setup. This is used to define what is shown in the simulation as a fixture.
- Remove - clears any geometry previously assigned as the fixture in the CAM Tree.
Assigning Fixture Geometry
After creating a CAM job, you can assign fixture geometry.
