System Requirements

Introduction

The following requirements provide guidelines for using BobCAD-CAM software on computers running Windows operating systems. Note that optimal performance may be achieved by exceeding the recommended requirements.

Recommended System Requirements

Operating System: Windows 11 x64 or later

CPU: 2.0 GHz multi-core processor or higher

Memory: 6 GB RAM or higher

Available Hard Disk Storage: 2 GB or higher

Video: 1 GB *graphics card that supports OpenGL 1.1

Minimum System Requirements

Operating System: Windows 8

CPU: 2.0 GHZ processor

Memory: 3 GB RAM

Available Hard Disk Storage: 2 GB or higher

Video: 256 MB *graphics card that supports OpenGL 1.1

 

Note: Microsoft no longer supports Window 7.

 

We suggest an ATI or NVIDIA graphics card.

 

*BobCAD-CAM’s stability is dependent on the ability of the graphics card to process information; integrated memory graphics cards may work but are not recommended. ATI® or NVIDIA® graphics cards with dedicated memory are recommended. The graphics card’s software driver must be updated to the current software drivers released by the graphics card manufacturer.

Other Requirements

Network Licenses

BobCAD-CAM currently supports network licenses installed on servers running:

 

  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 10
  • Windows 11

 

Note: Microsoft no longer supports Window 7.

Optical (Disk) Drive

When using physical media (disk) to install the BobCAD-CAM software, the optical drive used must support DVD-ROM disks

Apple Macintosh Computers

BobCAD-CAM is not supported on Apple Macintosh-based machines, but many customers have had success running BobCAD-CAM on Mac computers using Boot Camp and a Windows operating system.
